Reflections on My Research Journey & New Contribution to Scientific Knowledge! 🌍🔬
I vividly remember my last public appearance at an International Conference, where I was set to present my research findings. I unexpectedly bumped into my course lecturer, who asked me, "David, do you want to be a researcher in academia?" I smiled, unable to answer immediately. However, as I continue on this journey, the clarity of my purpose is becoming stronger. Yes, I want to be a #researcher because I am passionate about solving problems that have both scientific significance and real societal impact.
One of my key research contributions to conference proceedings, "Performance Optimization of an Adjustable Solar Water Heater System: A MATLAB-Based Analysis of Tilt Angle and Seasonal Variation," is now featured in the Book of Abstracts 📰📑 of the 1st International Conference of Faculty of Engineering (ICOFE 24). Collaborating with my Professor [who's been influential in my career] and fellow scholars, we explored how optimizing the tilt angle of solar collectors can significantly enhance energy efficiency and sustainability. This work provided valuable insights into solar energy utilization and was an incredible opportunity to contribute to the discourse on renewable energy solutions.
In my third week as an Engineering Graduate Trainee at Midwal Engineering Services Ltd., I’ve been fully immersed in hands-on learning within a metallurgy and mechanical testing lab.
Beyond the lab, I’m actively engaged in research, having co-authored two manuscripts and submitted three publications, including two as the first author.
About four weeks ago, I answered the clarion call to serve my country through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) here in Lagos, the city of excellence. The 3-week orientation course was a fulfilling experience, and I was privileged to lead the hashtag #NYSCSafetyVanguard Lagos state. My experience as an OSHA UK-certified supervisor was instrumental in executing every task, including delivering safety tips to over 3,000 corps members and camp officials during our morning sessions.
Good New's 🕺
I’m delighted to share some great news about my professional journey! 🥳👷♂️👏 (Advancing from Student member to Member)
I'm thrilled to announce that I’ve officially been elected as a Member of the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers).
David Echefulam Echendu awarded the prestigious ASME Foundation Scholarship by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers! 🎓✨
